Lighting strikes twice.
Six years ago, I was fortunate enough to see my favorite music group in the whole wide universe. They were on a small world tour and it thankfully included a memorable one-night appearance in San Francisco at the historic Warfield Theatre. It was a night which I would never forget and would remember forever.
Since that time the Autobahn has been a quiet road with a minor a jingle on the car radio of "Expo 2000". Then last year with 100-year anniversary of the world-famous Tour de France bicycle race, Kraftwerk rushed into their Kling Klang Studio to finish up some of their crafted work. With a new album of new material released, I would once again reflect on that memorable evening and how lightning struck and I was able to get a rare upclose appearance after the concert by the muscial workers from Germany.
Hearing their new album would bring back memories and excitement and I'd logically hope they would tour again. Well, thankfully, they decided to embarc on an extensive world tour for 2004 and would only include a few sparce dates in the U.S. I hoped and prayed they would once again play the historic Warfield Theatre. My prayers were answered. This time around my I would take my daughter, who was only four the last time around. And this time, I would try and be prepared and take in the sights and sounds of not only the German Fantastic Four, but also the sights and sounds of The City by the Bay.

I would reminisce and get all excited all over again and would hope certain they would take their robots with them on a world tour once again. I would often think, surely they would come back to the Warfield since it must have been memorable for them as well. And sure enough, they would embarc on a greater world tour and would include, in only a few U.S. dates, once again the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco. I would think this time I would come prepared. I would make sure I had a new black marker pen and I would not only take in the sights and sounds of the Dusseldorf Fantastic Four, but also of the City by the Bay.

Shimmering City Lights
We arrive in San Francisco the night before the big day. Clear and cool it's nice to be in The City again. The last time I was here was for the same purpose--to see Kraftwerk.
|
Our purpose is that thang, it's called Kling Klang.
Now that we are here. Let's make it clear. We drove to the Bay, and here we stay. They may not play The Telephone Call, but we're still gonna see who started it all. |

Once again... Our purpose is clear.
Now that we are here. Let's make it clear. We drove to the Bay, and here we stay. They may not play The Telephone Call, but we are still gonna see what started it all. |

The Rock.
We're on our way to Alcatraz, the infamous maximum security prison. Now I'm not saying I've never been to a jail, but that' s another webpage. : P |
Between The Rock and a far place.
As the ferry boat approaches, I couldn't help but think how kewl it would be if Kraftwerk played The Alcatraz !!!!! |
|
|
They say the Neon Lights are always bright on Broadway.
The main hallway of cells is called "Broadway." We are later going to see Kraftwerk play "Neon Lights." Coincidence? I think not ! |
Jail House Walk!
Marina strolls past the cells or, should I say, strolls the cell's past. |

Bad! Bad! Bad! Girl !!!!
After throwing another spoiled tantrum, Marina gets a 20-to life time out. |
